In Tune

Music has always been a major part of Michael Bonner’s life. Bonner’s interest in music began in his early childhood when he was a member of the Philadelphia Boys Choir. During his three years with the Philadelphia Boys Choir, Bonner traveled nine countries in Europe, sang the national anthem in the 1993 World Series and had the distinct honor of performing “War Requiem” at Carnegie Hall. While in high school Bonner performed weekly at the General Wayne Inn in Merion as well as Alberto’s in Newtown Square. Bonner’s love for music has had a significant role in his adult life as well. As a

music minor at Loyola College in Maryland, Bonner helped to organize the first ever music festival “Loyolapalooza”. Before deciding to pursue a career in law, Bonner worked as a news reporter for the Daily Times covering a few murder cases which sparked his interest in the law.

Bonner has transitioned to life at Villanova Law School and holds the position of Associate Editor of Outside Articles for the Environmental Law Journal. Bonner joined the Environmental Law Journal through a write-on competition.

Bonner manages to make time for music between his responsibilities on the Law Journal and his class work. “Playing piano is a way for me to unwind,” says Bonner. Bonner performs with former classmates from Loyola College at different venues in New York City and continues to write and record his own music.
