Thank you for your interest in building our new law school. Villanova University School of Law has established the following policies and procedures for receiving and counting gifts to the Campaign. The policies cover the majority of commitments to the campaign, but the Steering Committee has the authority to grant an exception to these policies.
Give Online through our secure website. Villanova University accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. You may also pay with a credit card by phone by dialing 610-519-7035.

Securities will be credited at their mean value between the high and low on the day they were hand delivered or mailed in negotiable form to the School of Law or its agent, or were placed in an account in the School of Law's name. Closely held stock with no ready market value will be credited at the appraised value. Neither gains nor losses realized by School of Law's sale of the securities after their receipt will affect the credited value. Any brokerage fee or loss incurred will be charged as an operating expense of the School of Law. Real estate and personal property, such as land, houses, buildings, and antiques will be credited at the fair market value placed on them by an independent, expert appraiser, contracted and paid for by the donor. If desirable, the School of Law may also have an appraisal done at its expense. Small gifts with an apparent value of less than $5,000 can be valued by the donor or have a value placed on them by a qualified expert on the faculty or staff of the institution.
Prior approval from the Associate Dean for Development for a gift in kind is required before a formal acceptance of the gift is possible.
Campaign credit is given only when the item can be sold or used to meet campaign objectives.
Commitments to the campaign will often be made by a written pledge or letter of intent. The usual pledge payment schedule will be two to four years. Only that portion of the total gift scheduled to be paid within three years of the official close of the campaign should be counted in this campaign.
