Villanova Law School Receives Connelly Foundation Pledge
Villanova University School of Law has received a pledge of $500,000 from the Connelly Foundation in support of the Law School’s fundraising campaign for its new building, announced Mark A. Sargent, Dean. The Connelly Foundation, founded in 1955 by John and Josephine Connelly, seeks to foster learning and improve the quality of life in the Greater Philadelphia region, and has long been a generous supporter of Villanova University. The Campaign for Villanova Law, which began its public phase in April 2006 and is scheduled to end in 2008, has raised more than $19 million in gifts and pledges towards its goal of $20 million. Law School Breaks Ground for New Building
Mummers, a fife and drum corps, the Villanova Wildcat, and a parade of faculty, students, staff, alumni and university dignitaries braved the rain on November 19 to celebrate the ceremonial groundbreaking for the new Law School building. Site work is well underway, with work on the foundation scheduled to begin in January and the steel frame due to go up beginning in April. Law School Receives Grant from Kresge Foundation
Villanova University School of Law has received a $600,000 Challenge Grant from the Kresge Foundation towards the Law School's Capital Campaign to raise funds for a new law school building, announced Mark A. Sargent, Dean of the Law School. "The Trustees of the Kresge Foundation informed us that they were pleased to support a project that will enhance legal education and our ability to serve the poor, and commended our decision to meet LEED environmental standards in the construction of the new building," said Sargent. Martin G. McGuinn '67 Chair Inaugurated on October 12
Professor Richard Booth was inaugurated as the first Martin G. McGuinn Chair in Business Law on Friday, October 12, in St. Mary’s Chapel on Villanova University's Campus. The named chair is a recognition of McGuinn's generous gift to the Campaign for Villanova Law. Read more...
Parking Garage Opens
The parking garage, the first phase of construction for the new law school building, was completed in August 2007. The 600 space garage is located on the current Spring Mill lot between the law school and the train station. Read more...
