As an undergraduate at UCLA, native Californian Jeffrey Moorad dreamed
of being a lawyer involved in sports. After graduating from Villanova Law School he returned to Los Angeles where he got his first big break, representing 5 members of the 1984 U.S. Olympic baseball team. In 1985, Moorad, who was primarily representing baseball players, joined forces with Leigh Steinberg, whose 10-year-old firm mostly represented football players. Moorad later served as COO of Moorad Sports Management where he represented baseball players, football stars and media personalities.
Moorad served as a consultant and appeared in the Oscar winning film Jerry Maguire. His office was recreated for the film’s famous “Show me the money!” scene. He also served as the baseball technical consultant on the Kevin Costner movie, For Love of the Game. As General Partner and Chief Executive Officer of the National League’s Arizona Diamonbacks, he has brought new energy and creative leadership to an increasingly competitive franchise.
