Professor Booth joins Villanova from the University of Maryland School of Law, where he was the Marbury Research Professor of Law. Professor Booth earned his A.B. from the University of Michigan and his J.D. from Yale Law School. Following law school, he practiced with Donovan Leisure Newton & Irvine, in the area of corporate and securities litigation. In 1982, he joined the faculty at Southern Methodist University, later moving to Case Western Reserve Law School. He has visited at Chicago-Kent, the University of Aberdeen (Scotland), and George Washington University. Professor Booth’s recent research has focused on the impact of investor diversification on a range of corporate issues arising in connection with securities trading, from broker-dealer fraud to program trading. His books include Financing The Corporation (West 1993-2003), and Business Basics for Law Students (Aspen, 2d ed. 1998, 3d ed. 2002) (co-author), Fundamentals of Modern Business (Aspen 1994-2004) (co-author), Cases and Materials on Corporation Finance (West, 3d ed. 2001) (co-author), and Corporations (West Blackletter Outline Series 5th ed. 2005) (co-author). He is also the author of over three dozen law review articles, which have been published in journals such as the Business Lawyer, California Law Review, George Washington Law Review, Georgia Law Review, Illinois University Law Review, Michigan Law Review, Northwestern Law Review, New York University Law Review, and Wake Forest Law Review, and has written for the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, the National Law Journal, and the Legal Times of Washington. Professor Booth will be teaching Corporate Finance, Business Planning and Securities Litigation: Selected Issues.
